I've always had an interest in working with wood and having retired recently I needed an inexpensive hobby to keep myself amused!
|
In the past I have made models of farm carts. On a visit to the local library I found a book called 'Making Dolls' Houses' by Brian Nickolls. This started it all. I was then given the book as a birthday present and proceeded to make the Tudor House, which took me a considerable time!

Having built the Tudor House, I then had to set about furnishing it. While doing this I also started work on my next project, the Thatched Cottage, also from Brian Nickoll's book. As I was gaining experience, I found that I could modify (and hopefully improve on!) the original design of the cottage, turning it into something that is definitely my work. |
Having gained experience on these two projects, I now feel that I have the confidence to design my own houses from scratch. I will hopefully be able to add to this site, reporting on my new projects at a later date.
Many thanks to Brian Nickolls for starting me off in this absorbing hobby.

| I would be grateful if you would sign my guest book and leave comments on any aspect of the site. You might also like to mention your own interests here - perhaps the book could become an area where people with an interest in dollshouses and miniature furniture could swap email addresses. |
